A Sainsbury's Local store on High Street in Sheffield has closed after part of its ceiling collapsed onto a customer on Monday just after 12:00.

Police were called following reports of an "industrial accident". Officers confirmed the man had not been seriously injured.

In a statement, Sainsbury's said: "Our colleagues were on hand to help and immediately called the emergency services, whilst taking care of the customer."

Store closure

The store will remain closed while Sainsbury's assesses the situation. A handwritten note pinned to the door says the store will be "closed until further notice" and apologises for "any inconvenience".
